Just a quick heads-up: there is actually a language toggle (JP/EN) right on the Title Screen, just below the Start button, so you can also switch it there as well.

I have the same issue, when it's being played from an internet browser through itch.io the game doesn't function on Mozilla Firefox, it does function on Google Chrome.
